Lanarkshire / Re: Neil McKinnon 1891 and 1901 census Anderston Glasgow

I am pretty certain the Neil McKinnon you are looking for is my grandmothers father. He married a Sarah Shirlaw in Lanark in 1899 and the marriage certificate shows his parents to be Archibald McKinnon and Catherine (nee McLean). He died in 1918, had 3 daughters and one son. My grandmother's name was Flora and her brother called Archibald had the middle name of Gillean after one of Neil's brothers. Sometimes in census the family is under name McKinnon and sometimes MacKinnon and show Neil's birthplace as either Bunnessan or Kilfinichen, Mull.

Hope this is not too late. I am fairly certain Neil MacKinnon was my great-grandfather, my grandmothers father. He married a Sarah Shirlaw in 1899 and is on the 1901 census but I could not trace him or his family anywhere on the 1911 census. He dies in 1918. He had 4 children - Margaret born around 1900, Catherine born 1902, Flora born around 1904 or 1905 and Archibald born 1909. They lived around the Glasgow area, Eastwood, Lanark and also on the south side of Glasgow. Flora was my grandmother but I cannot find her birth certificate although I could find certificates for all the other children. Flora marries my grandfather William Wilson in 1935, my dad (another William Wilson) being born in 1936. My Dad is an only child as am I. We did keep in touch with my grandmothers sisters and brother and their extended family when I was younger but have lost touch with them now. My grandmother was very proud of her MacKinnon ancestry and their connection to Mull.
