Thank you so very much! I didn't know where they were living in 1861, so that's a real bonus. It appears that Marl Terrace is no longer there - perhaps it was razed to make room for the Royal Blackpool Teaching Hospital, which is located on Haslingden Rd now.
I also didn't know JR Fletcher's mother's maiden name, Whitaker - that's great. I don't have a subscription to any ancestry website, as I am only able to do my research off and on (time and resources being a problem), so I'm limited as to the depth of research I can do. Bless you.

Family History Beginners Board / Fletcher Family in Blackburn

Hello,
I'm researching the Fletcher family in Blackburn. My Methodist great, great grandfather, John Robert Fletcher, was a solicitor in Blackburn, and worked on Preston New Road at Alma Place. The building is still there today. He lived in West Park Rd, next to the Corporation Park, through which he would have walked, (I suppose) to get to work. I think his father's name was James, (born perhaps in 1810) and his mother was Mary, but more than this, I don't know.
Any clues would be gratefully received!
Many thanks!

Hello, I'm new here... I'm researching family roots in Lancashire... If anyone is able to restore this photo, I'd be extremely grateful. Many thanks in advance...
Best regards...
