Midlothian / Re: Burial Index's for Newbattle and Newton
« on: Monday 24 January 22 20:04 GMT (UK)  »
i'd appreciate a lookup in the Newbattle burial index for any Russels or Moffat.  I saw a date on Ancestry that suggested that William Russel died in Newbattle in 1766 with no source.  William Russel married Christian Moffat in 1750 and had a large family in Newbattle.

Thanks

Breconshire / Re: William Price's correct parish?

Annette,

The following numbers are on the 1851 census sheet.  ED 1b, Piece 2459, Folio 48, Page 40, Household 135.

If you are going to look at the sheet, would you also look at wife Mary's birth location.

Thanks,

Debbie

Breconshire / William Price's correct parish?
« on: Monday 09 September 19 21:34 BST (UK)  »
In the 1851 Welsh census, my ancestor, William Price, said he was born in Brecon in what looks like Lanfallai.   William was approx 52 years old, married with children & living in Dowlais in 1851.  He also had a boarder, Watkins Price, age approx 27 living with him from the same parish in Brecon.

I'm guessing that is Llandefalle.  Are there other possibilities I should consider?

William immigrated to the US with his family & was in Pennsylvania by the 1860 US census so the 1851 Welsh census is the only clue I have to his birth location.

Lanarkshire / Re: Cambuslang Mort Cloth Records & Robert Craigie

Thank you for looking at the records for me.  I appreciate it!

Does anyone know if there are death records for the parish too?  I asked about Mort Cloth records as that's what the Mormon Wiki indicated were the available death records.

Lanarkshire / Cambuslang Mort Cloth Records & Robert Craigie

I'm tracing the family of Robert Craigie & Jean Brown and their son Robert Craigie who married Janet Donaldson in 1811 in the Cambuslang parish.  It also looks like the family was listed in the 1807 parish census.

Another tree has Jean Brown Craigie dying in March 1802 and Robert Craigie dying in March 1820 but the information is unsourced.  The 1807 parish census seems to indicate that Robert Craigie was married to Kath McLean, which makes me think he remarried after his wife died.

Does anyone have access to the Cambuslang Mort Cloth records to confirm the death dates.  Also looking for any other Craigie deaths during that period as I suspect several children died young.

Thanks!

Debbie
