Floris Tromp (1806 - 1863) was my 3XggGrandfather.
I have been trying to figure out his extended family for some time now.
My original data, (from an aunt , sister of my grandmother) which I took to be accurate, showed that he had 6 children by Johanna Theunissen.
Later research told of a first wife, (Johanna was the second), Willemina Margaretha Myburgh (or Meyburgh) with 13 children.
When I googled his name I came up with many websites mentioning him with a bewildering number of children, different names and different dates. They are definitely  about him, because his dates more or less correspond.
Anyone with any info which will help me, will be gratefully received.

I believe that Capt. Charles Carson Alexander, Royal Engineer, was sent to St Helena island in 1840 to supervise the exhumation of the body of Napoleon Bonaparte and load it onto a ship for transport to France. As far as I  can tell he was not related to the Alexanders already on St Helena. I am a descendant of that family. I am interested in tracing his line back to see if he ties up with our line some time in the past. We have traced our line back to Wyllyam Alexander, born in 1515 in Heckfield, Hampshire. The first Alexander on St Helena was Richard, born in 1652 in Yately, Hampshire. Any help will be appreciated
