Is there a Polish Embassy in your country? (You don't say where you are, in your profile)

I'd contact them, at least for an address for the Catholic Church in Poland to write to.

Or they may have a better idea of how to find out.

Thanks Dawn, I'm in the UK I have tried the central Katowice records office who cant help, but I hadn't thought about the embassy.  I'll have a look now!

Best wishes,

Kelly

I did a search on grobonet.com (website with pictures from cementeries) and while the name Cecylia Malarz didn't return any results, Aniela Solorz did - http://www.polskie-cmentarze.com/rudaslaska/grobonet/start.php?id=detale&idg=4217
Ruda Śląska is a city near Katowice, so that might be it.

THANK YOU! THATS A REALLY USEFUL SITE, THIS LADY WAS BORN MUCH LATER THAN THE LADY I AM LOOKING FOR, BUT THANK YOU! I'LL KEEP SEARCHING

Hi,

I'm looking for the burial place of my grandmother, the records office have told me I need to contact the parish responsible for the area and then ask the parish to check the books.

My grandmother was Cecyila Malarz (was Ptok) she passed away 18.12.1963 at Agnieszki 10, Katowice, she was catholic.  I don't know how to find out which parish she belonged to, any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Dear all,

I hope you can help me!

I am looking to find my grandfathers family in Katowice - he sadly died before we could all make the trip many years ago.

I am looking for the burial place of his mother, Cecylia Malarz (formerly Ptok) she was born in Siemanowice Katowice on 16.03.1890 and died on the 18th.12.1963 in agnieszki Katowice.

Also, my granddad had a sister Aniela Solorz (was Malarz) she has recently died and I am waiting on a copy of her death certificate, she had children but I don't know how to find out their names?

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance
