Hello Barbara,

Thank you for your welcoming message and for responding so fast, this was unexpected.  :)

To be honest I did not know this information existed at all. 1801 is the furthest back I have known, I am still in Lancaster with my searches as I did not fully work out the Liverpool connections until recently. So this information is valuable to me, again I am grateful for you pointing this out.

Shame great grandad Ernie is no longer with us, He was a font of family knowledge.

We did have a male relative who ran off with a servant girl, family fued and such.

A murderer

And this Broughton Hall story may be revealed one day hopefully.

I am gathering and Compiling all the information and tree to be handed down to future generations so we can keep the history and it's creators alive so to speak.

So I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I have a small amount of details, a few press clippings, but really alot of my Information is verbal, going back to when I was small, and chats with my mum.

I have not worked this site out yet but I will have a look for anything related.

All the best
Regards
 :)
Lee.

Hello

I am the Great Grandson of

Ernest Broughton Pegg born: 1908 - Died in 1997 I think Skerton, Lancaster, his son's name was ''John Broughton Pegg'' who's daughter is my mother.

My mothers two brothers also carry the Broughton name, as does one male from the next generation... so this is a family story I've heard alot. All males on the Pegg side are to carry the Broughton name by way of tradition.

Something to do with a large estate confiscated by the MOD during ww1. Something I cannot confirm or find any information on so far.

I have had a 2 year break from researching this line, but the name Lydia is an unknown and so are
some of the other names of children that I have read above.

I have just contacted my mother who has recalled that Ernie (her granddad) only ever said ''They lost a few'' or words to that effect.

So information wise I may be able to add more information regarding the Pegg's we know lived in Lancaster/Garstang area immediate family.

I would really like to see anything you have on the Pegg's and help in any way if I can, but mum knows alot more than I which might help anyone with work to do.

I may visit all the grave sites mentioned just out of interest and maybe fresh details.

Thankyou for posting the above thread.

Regards

Lee.

Feel free to email me.
