Thank you both! I did find the marriage between Dougald McFadyen and Agnes Wilson, but there was also one between a Dougald McFadyen and a Sarah Hart which would also work with my dates. It's so confusing because there are McFadyens all over the place! When I can afford it I'll look on Scotlandspeople, thanks :)

Hi,

I'm looking for my great-great-grandmother but am finding no records for either her marriage to my great-great-grandfather Dougall McFadyen, or any reference to her on the birth records I have for the birth of my great-grandfather Colin McFadyen. I know that Colin was born in Glasgow in about 1886 and then lived on the Isle of Islay for some time; Dougall was born in about 1864, so she would have been born around the same time I assume. My mum seems to think that Colin had siblings, at least a sister named Clara. Can anyone help please?
