I am still looking for a Crosbie man from Wexford to answer the call and do a Y DNA test. A match to my Y chromosome results could be a breakthrough showing the pedigree that goes back 1500 years.

I have a Doyle and Dempsey (3rd ggp) marriage from Enniscorthy from about 1826. Cecilia Dempsey was born in 1803 and married John Doyle. Not sure about John and where he was born. Cecilia's mother was Sara Orengy (a French woman) the wife of Patrick Dempsey.

In researching and writing the book, a few things became apparent regarding Wexford Irish marriages.
•   All Irish marriages in the day were arranged to some degree.
•   In every case, marriages were arranged between other Parishes. Most of my Crosby/Crosbie family from Kilmore traveled to Templetown for brides, and Templetown males sought out Kilmore women.
My County Wexford 19th century family connections were between the families of Furlong and Power, Crosby and Power, White and Crosby, Kennedy and White, Power and Kennedy. All the brides and grooms were from different Parishes.
The moral of the story is do not discount looking into Parishes that may have been twenty or more miles apart.

I was not aware of any other work that was done on the Wexford Crosbies. I would love to compare notes as my conclusions are based not only on available records but actual autosomal and Y chromosome results.

I have compiled my research and have published a book on my 3rd great grandfather Thomas Crosby from County Wexford, Ireland. Using my Y chromosome test results I have established roots in Kilmore and Yorkshire, England. Much more research work can be done if there were some other Crosbie men from Wexford that would do a Y chromosome test. My results were totally unexpected as the haplogroup was a G. As you might know the G is very rare in Ireland and somewhat more prevalent in England and Wales. As I mentioned in the book the G no doubt came from the Roman occupation of Britiania going back to the 4th and 5th centuries. Very interesting stuff. You can find the book on Amazon US and UK. Looking forward to some feedback. Peter Michael Crosby

Thomas Crosbie and Ann Power were married in 1836 with Thomas White and Mary Power as witnesses. I'm puzzled with the word between the names. Any ideas?
