That was lucky, not many records survive from that early, you could have a look here to see what parish registers for Finglass survive, although that was likely the brides parish.
https://www.ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/registers/ParishRegisters/PARISHREGISTERS.pdf

thank you I will have a look !
I can't seem to find John Nelson's mother or father, it is a rather annoying roadblock  ???

Where did you get the information that John Nelson married Jane Nash in 1776?

Hi, i got that info from ancestry
from a source called: Ireland, Marriages in Walker's Hibernian Magazine, 1771 - 1812

Hello all,
I am trying to trace the nelson name, which is my father's surname.

My 5th great grandfather is a man named Horatio Folliott Nelson, born abt. 1776 in Finglas, Dublin. He died 16th July 1822.

He married a Maria Walker in 1814

I have his father down as John Nelson and mother as Jane Nash
I have managed to trace a bit on the Nash side

But my main concern is I am stuck on John Nelson.

I would really love to go as far back as I can on the Nelsons.

All I know is that John Nelson was born around 1750 in Dublin, married Jane Nash 17th May 1776 in Dublin and he died 13th august 1808.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !! :) :)

Hi everyone,

I am trying to locate Henry Smith's (my 5th great grandfather) mother and father.

He was born about 1811 in Fressingfield, he married Mary Ann Smith who was born abt 1811 in  Creetingham.

They had a daughter named Mahala, born abt 1844 and she married John Owen Buck
does anyone know the origin of the name Mahala in the UK?

thanks!
Georgia x :)
