I have been having a root about online this evening, with a John Percival registered with the Royal Irish Constabulary in Leitrim. The records are in the National Archives in Kew, here in London. Anyone have any confirmation or idea if this is on the right track? as I will go down to Kew to take a look.
thanks

hi 'Linny', thanks for the info. I can't remember if you mentioned which 'line' you are from. I am on ancestry too, so perhaps if you have a different user name on the DNA profiles, we may by some stretch of the imagination - be matched. (I am the percival - irwin) there's over 400 4th cousins on there for me! I was just disappointed to learn I was only about 12% Irish, despite Irish parents and a Scottish paternal grandmother. Perhaps the British library here in london, might have some details on the sheriffs/ constables of that time. I had membership about 20 years ago, so I can try again.

Thank you, once again! I will ask my brother in Sligo to visit the cemetery in Mohill in the quest for headstones. Thank you Hallmark (CP? as you mentioned Australia - we spoke on Ancestry before!), is your family member in Mohill a Percival, or connected? would be good for my brother to have a point of reference in Leitrim! thanks again. wow, thank you so much everyone for your imput.
Yes, exactly the Frances Percival you have noted.
There was someone on the previous thread who had gone to visit some aunts there, and mentioned an uncle victor - but i can see from records that he sadly died, just this summer. I hadn't thought much about the lack of male descendants in the line. thanks again

hi, i notice you have been discussing Anne Rosemond/ Percival. new to root chat so not sure time frame involved! I would be very interested in any family still in the leitrim area that would be a contact. I am 4th generations down the line. If anyone is on ancestry website - find the 'Michalia' tree! thanks
