Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Walter Jackson, Cause of Death?
« on: Monday 31 May 21 19:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm hoping you could help me, as I'm struggling to find anything or know if I'm correct. I have a member of my family tree, Walter Jackson, thought to be born in 1929 in Hull, Yorkshire, and dying possibly in 1930, but I'm unsure.

He's the only son of Charles Victor Jackson and Sarah Ellen Warcup, and I was wondering if anybody could help me know if the dates I have for him are correct and possibly, how he died?

Thank you in advance.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Eva "Babs" Croshaw

My great-great auntie, Eva Croshaw, also known as Babs, was born on July 14th, 1923, in Hull, Yorkshire.

In a 1939 census, she was listed as a "partial cripple" and I was wondering if anyone could help me find out why (what was wrong with her?) and also to help me find a death date for her, as I'm struggling to locate one.

Thank you in advance!

The photo you mentioned, would that mean he served in the war as well as building air raid shelters or would this have been a uniform he'd have worn when building the shelters?

Thank you.

World War One / Photos Of Ancestors In The War
« on: Sunday 23 February 20 18:04 GMT (UK)  »
My great-great grandfather, Ernest Gilbert Croshaw (born October 2nd, 1886), served in the Royal Naval Air Service; his service numbers were 231819 and F31819. Is there any way I can find a photograph of him, as there are none in my family's albums?

Also, for my other great-great grandfather, Charles Victor Jackson (born in 1911 in Leeds); I think he was a seaman, but I can't find photographs of him either.

Anything would be useful, thank you!☺️

I have a family story of the above named man, Albert Henry Cawthorn, going to Dunkirk from Hull to pick up soldiers. His nickname was Golly/Gollie or Goliath.

Can anyone help me verify this or prove it to be just a tale?

Thank you.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Ernest Maddra and Lucy Brown

Can anyone help me? I'm looking for photographs of my ancestors, Ernest Maddra (1888-1961, both in Hull), and his wife, Lucy Brown (1886-1983).

I've seen one on Ancestry of the two of them together, but unfortunately can't access it.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Sarah Taylor
« on: Tuesday 11 February 20 22:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I've come to a stop in my family tree because I can't find the paternal or maternal grandparents of Mark Henry West.

His parents' names are William George West and Sarah West (was Taylor).

Sarah was born roughly in 1813 (though not sure where).

William was born roughly in 1804 and died in 1859, possibly in Yorkshire. Ancestry says he was born in Painswick, Gloucestershire.

Can you help me find the names of their parents, please?
