Wexford / Enniscorthy Birth Records (Civil record) 1917
« on: Thursday 20 September 18 23:07 BST (UK)  »
I'm using Irish Genealogy website to trace birth records and I can't find any 1917 civil records for births in Enniscorthy in 1917 which is the year my Grandfather was born. Does anyone know why this gap exists?

Thank you so much for your help - I have been lost in those records  :)

You have helped me find my great grandmother Lizzie Dunbar and I am so grateful

Elizabeth / Lizzie Dunbar married William Murphy, a shoemaker in Wexford in 1911. I'm trying to find out more about Elizabeth / Lizzie and her family. The 1911 Census gives me 2 leads - Lizzie Dunbar working as a domestic servant in Oulartard, Tinnacross who is 21 years old and Lizzie Dunbar who is 16 and living in Ferns. I believe Lizzie died in 1919 at the age of 28 so the 21 year old Lizzie seems to be the most likely - but I can't find a trace of her in the 1901 Census. Can anyone help please?

Daughter of Whom? John Dunbar

Address? Wexford?

Religion? Roman Catholic

I now have the marriage record thanks to an earlier reply  :)

Welcome to Rootschat
The address for Lizzie on her marriage is a bit difficult to read but looks like Oulartard

It also gives her age as a minor with is under 21 but the Census could be incorrect as it was filled in by her employer.

Thank you so much for the link to the church records. This record also tells me that Lizzie's father is John Dunbar so that allows me to search a bit more and hopefully find the rest of her family.
