thank you for that information, I found a lovely website all about Belper that listed some baptisms too, so will trawl through as much as possible before the end of the month. It looks a lovely place and I'm really looking forward to it now!! Thanks again

Oh i just realised this was the info I had got, sorry, I didn't really make myself very clear did i? It was Joseph's father I wanted, I had the information for Samuel's parents, joseph and Maria, I believe Joseph's father is also Joseph and his mum is Mary Walker, they also had other children, Joseph was born 1798 (ish) and William 1802, Ann 184, George 1806 and Samuel 1808, obviously Joseph and Mary would probably be alone by 1841 if they were still alive, I think Joseph may have been born in 1766 or there abouts. Thanks for the info anyway, as I didn't know where Maria had been born,

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Boot of Belper, 1841
« on: Wednesday 03 October 07 08:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone help please? My husband's mum's side were Boot and lots of them seemed to come from Belper. His great great grandparents were Samuel and Lydia (nee Jennison) and they lived in North Terrace in 1881. Samuel's father is Joseph Boot born c1798 in Belper and he has 3 brothers, William c1802, George, c1806 and Samuel c1808 and a sister Ann c1804, all born in Belper. Their parents, I believe, are Joseph Boot and Mary (nee Walker) This is all the info I have on the latter, not sure where they were born or even when. Can anyone enlighten me please, we are up in Derbyshire the end of this month and hope to do some looking around whilst there, graveyards etc.... many thanks

blueeyes, I just got your messages, you must be some cousin of my hubby's by the sound of it, was your mum Jean? Sorry for not replying to this topic I had not had any messages recently regarding it. There was an address on the birth certificate for Edden Smith, it was something like Wimpstone Whitchurch, which we passed on a recent visit to the Midlands, I am trying to work out the connection, but I have an idea who you may be, do you have a brother who lived with your mum?

there is a thread under Warwickshire asking for this info and someone has been trying to find out, unfortunately I don't have this info at all! I know that in 1901 they were living in Attleborough I think it was, in Nuneaton but don't know where or when they died sorry!! :(

have no idea at all!! This was the problem we had, he is nowhere on the censuses!! We only know of him because of ordering his dad's birth Certificate, Edden Smith and Ethel North were his parents, then we ordered Edden's birth certificate and it showed us that John Smith and Ellen Edden were hisparents!!
