Hi calmar,

I have Just recently come across your posting, and sadly there seems to have been no response, most unusual. Have you managed to get more information since your posting?

I am trying to confirm a DNA connection with Mary (Strood) Woodruff, but have 'hit a brick wall' in determining the connection with the daughter, Gertrude Woodruff (1902-1970). I understand she married Percy Albert Gilbert in 1921. Did she also later marry someone named Smith?

Perhaps you can help me.

Hello David,

I have today discovered that no followup occurred. Events of the past two years overtook me. If you would like to reply to this posting, I can then send a PM to you and we might be able to resume a connection. I am sure that you will be interested in knowing more about the Clark line. Regards.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: Gabriel Galt CRAMB (1890-1929)
« on: Monday 03 July 23 21:28 BST (UK)  »
amondog, mckha489, CaroleW and johnhood,

The information you have all provided is simply incredible, and I do "thank you" each for the response.  I have only discovered a family connection through recent DNA results, and yes CaroleW, I am very pleased with the replies, especially the information that has been so generously provided by johnhood - again, "thank you".

Once again, information obtained from Ancestry (hints) was incorrect! The old adage "not everything is as it seems" has proven to be true in this case!

There's certainly a lot to digest. Thank you. Regards.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Gabriel Galt CRAMB (1890-1929)
« on: Monday 03 July 23 00:36 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am seeking any information available about Gabriel Galt Cramb (b 7 Aug 1890 Glasgow) who was in the Army, and died in London on 28 Mar 1929. Was he a Chelsea Pensioner? Is there an obituary for him, and where was he buried?

Gabriel's mother, Agnes (Galt) Cramb (b 1866 Glasgow) also lived, and died, in London on 25 Mar 1929 in Bermondsey, Surrey - three days before her son! Burial took place at Nunhead Cemetery, Linden Grove, London. Gabriel's father, William Cramb (b 1864 Edinburgh, Scotland) had emigrated earlier to the USA to join another son.

I am hoping that someone might be able to help me. Thank you. Regards.

US Lookup Requests / Re: Elizabeth & Johnson Granville To USA
« on: Monday 12 June 23 23:02 BST (UK)  »
Hello hanes teulu,

Thank you for your reply. Interesting articles to read.

Johnson Granville who married Elizabeth Paget I have now discovered, since getting DNA results, wasn't the only one in Pennsylvania, it seems, hence the emergence of my latest query.

I need to know the date of his second marriage to confirm that (my) Johnson Granville did indeed marry Mary Curnow Rowe, and raised a second family.

Regards.

Hello RJ137,

Wow! Thank you. I was going cross-eyed trying to find that under many variations. And another different date of birth! At least I now have the burial site.

Regards.
