My great great grandfather George Baskerville was born in Bristol around 1810. He lived most of his life there but for some reason he moved for a few years to London - Northside, Shoreditch. He was there during the 1851 census and my great grandfather Frederick George was on the census. I know they were in Bristol in 1849 living in Ashley Place and by 1856 he was back in Bristol and was a Beer Retailer. When he was in London he was a cabinet maker. I would be interested if there was any reason why someone from Bristol would move to London for a few years between 1849 and 1856. Was there a great need for cabinet makers?? What was Shoreditch like back then. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
