The Common Room / Where/how to hire a researcher?
« on: Wednesday 29 May 19 09:38 BST (UK)  »
My searching has led me to Knowle Mental Hospital, where my husband's great great grandfather passed away, and who's records are kept at the Tyne and Wear archive. I am unable to travel there to see them so need to hire someone to do it for me.
Their own service takes 6 weeks so I was wondering if there are any independent people who do this kind of thing (a bit quicker!) and if you have any recommendations.
Thank you :)

London and Middlesex / Re: London's Baths in 1900s - Englefield Road
« on: Monday 27 May 19 09:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi, firstly my apologies for dragging up an old post!

I have been searching for information on the public baths at Englefield road as my relatives lived there in 1945. It seems an odd place to live. Does anyone know, did they rent rooms atall? The following year they were living in the Town Hall and I know he was Mace Bearer around that time.
If anyone has information or photos they wouldn't mind sending me I would be very greatful. 3 young children means I can't travel and take photos myself very often (let alone have the energy!).

Thank you so much!
