I assume that is when he would have changed his name to Procter, rather than Dickinson

Welcome to Rootschat reevaannwalker, sorry forgot to say that earlier.

I am going to put some info up but as Yorkshire is not my area of expertise I would like others opinions of what I have.

FreeREG has Adel records;
www.freereg.org.uk

Baptism;
14 Aug 1803
St John the Baptist, Adel, Yorkshire, West Riding
Thomas DICKINSON, Mother MARY Dickinson
Abode Eccup*

Marriage;
07 Nov 1803 same Church
Mary DICKINSON to Thomas PROCTER
Thomas of Kirkby Overblow/Mary of Adel
Witness 1   William PROCTER
Witness 2   Thomas DICKINSON

So looks to me that Parents married a few months after Thomas was born and Baptised.

Can others look at this please to see if my geography is correct :)

Ok cool, thanks!

A Marriage that early on would have Witnesses names.

Civil Reg of Marriages didnt start til Sept 1837 and then only Fathers names/occp's and witnesses were shown.

Thank you! I am going to join this site and look into it more here!

If you go to Wharfegen.org.uk site it may help.  I saw a Father Richard Procter 1774 and Mother Ann Wheelhouse 1779.   Hope this helps you .   Cheers   Bert  N Z      edited----seems that Thomas had a twin Charles and two sisters Elizabeth and Ann. Maybe what you are looking for

I am looking for the parents of Thomas Procter of West Yorkshire, his wife was Jane King and he was born around 1802!

If anyone has any information please help me out - I've searched everywhere!
