i dont have a clue we found that a distant relative had put up these dates but we lost contact years ago with them alls we know purely is that he lived in the hunslet area and lost his army in 1918 while serving with the west yorkshire regiment and he married a woman called maude

hi all thanks his wifde was called Maude and his brother was called clifford who was killed MIA in action thank you all for all this information does anyone know which battalion he was in in the yorkshire regiment

thank you for replying his parents were David & Ellen smith I only know the date he was called up on thanks to a family member but we dont know his army number etc. he was probally born in leeds area but not sure on that family history lost to time and we cant seem to find any thing about which battalion he was in just know he was in west yorkshire regiment

Hi there all ive been searching for years on any info like army number / battlion of my great great granddad john william smith alls I know is he was in the west yorkshire regiment & was called up on 25th march 1917 and he lost his arm 20th July 1918 he was born 1896 all I am desperately trying to find out his battlion he was in when he lost his army there has been rumors that is was ypres ?

this is weird but I am related to you my great x3 granddad was john smith the one that married Rhoda sabey their son David smith is my x2 great granddad he moved to leeds from northill bedfordshire and married a woman from doncaster and had 12 kids one of which is my granddad who is now 89 --- i have a drawn family tree showing all this but dont know how to insert it to here
