He served in ww1 and then was recalled for overseeing the Court Martials of the Easter Rising in Ireland, and then he went to Hong Kong to be assistant land officer/majestrate on the supreme court etc
As far as I know he retired in 1937 (as there was a mention in a newspaper when he left hong kong) but in ww2 joined the RAF in ww2. I found that out from google and later when I got a copy of service records, where he was in special administration duties.

Unless he was recalled again for whatever reason I don't know why he went to South Africa.

Thankyou for the reply.

If the timeline is on Lives of the 1st WorldWar, that is one I have uploaded.

The regiment have been very useful but do not have info about South Africa other than the mention of being a Judge there.

It is South Africa that is the mystery.

Hi I was wondering if anyone is able to help?

Frederick Eaves appears to be a close family friend, although recorded as being an Uncle to a relative (i've never proven that)

What I was wondering is if anyone can point me in the direction of where I might be able to locate his records for the time he spent in South Africa. I know he sailed to Durban in 1947 and he died in England in 1964.

His regiment (The Kings Own Royal Lancasters) have said that his obituary in their journal mentions that he was a Judge in South Africa, I have been unable to locate any info and would like to look more into it, if this is possible.
