« on: Monday 19 December 22 19:07 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know the present day location where the micklegate court houses were situated.

They were situated at 36 Micklegate prior to the change to house numbers along micklegate.

Thanks
John

In the text of a book written by William Douglass in Boston in 1748 he mentions the Dafforne Hills in scandinavia. (See link below)
Does anyone have a clue about these hills named Dafforne. There were Daffornes living in Boston at the same time as Douglass.

Bapt record gives parents name. I also know that JAH’s grandfather bought that house in 1802. But that does not prove that JAH was born there.

There are multiple sources copying this info and i am starting to working back to find the earliest source but the person writing the first mention will have died so this may be an impossible task.
I am not a relative but trying to write a definitive article about a relative of JAH.

He was born in York 1803 (bapt Catholic); the plaque does exist and the birthdate is correct.
I am questioning how someone knew that he was born in that house. What is the source doc that verifies this.

Bios of JAH say that he was born at 63 Micklegate York (now 114 micklegate) and there is a blue plaque on this property.
However i cannot find a definitive source to verify this birthplace. Does anyone know the source?

Yes Shaun
This ties in with my view that Braddan House is “the cottage” which means that RCHM and Heritage England have sone factual inaccuracies about this house.

John
