Hi Annie I don’t think I’ve made myself clear. So another of Sarah’s descendants is someone who shows as my 3rd cousin. She is actually my 2nd cousin 1x removed. We both come from Sarah’s daughter Hannah’s line, and we have confirmed this through trees. When looking in shared matches for me and the American line, my confirmed line isn’t showing. There is only one shared unknown match with no tree! I have no idea why?

Thankyou all for the information I have looked at all of the sites and they are very interesting!
The records you have found are really interesting, and another Henry crops up!!!! There must be lots of them!! This all raises so many questions.

Yes I have a small amount of dna 15cm with a ‘distant cousin’ who descends from Thomas williams, possibly Sarah’s brother. However another descendent of Sarah does not share Dna with us so that has me confused too!

From doing some digging on other ancestry trees and dna links, I have found a thomas Williams in Carlow born 1843. I have spoke to his descendant and it is believed he stayed in the area until he died. He married a Margaret kavanagh. They had children Catherine, Henry, John, Thomas and George. Some of these children moved to Chicago. So it is of interest that Sarah’s daughter Mary agnes, I found a passenger list of her moving to Chicago in the 1890s. The form said to be with her cousin Henry Williams. I am convinced this is thomas and Margaret’s son as it all fits!

Hi Annie, margarets daughters were Catherine and Mary Ellen, and Sarah’s were Hannah (can discount this as this was paternal nans name) Mary agnes and ellen. So Catherine is a high possibility but then Mary/ellen is too!

Hi, I don’t believe this tree is correct as Revina says on her marriage that her fathers name is John, whereas most of the trees on ancestry say revinas dad is Francis and that Revina was baptised Sarah. When following up Sarah it clearly is a Sarah and not Revina. Thanks for looking though!

From looking at baptism records for Sarah and Margaret’s children, they were godparents to one another’s children, but there was also a thomas Williams who was god parents to Margaret’s child but I have never found evidence of him on census records. I suspect he is a brother given they both named their children Thomas (Sarah’s son was John Thomas) although they both died as babies
