Yes! That is them getting married in 1825,  I have these records. I am hoping to get the copies of these records (pic included). I don’t even know if it will include more information.  But I am trying to confirm parents for Isabel. Seeing a cause of death would be interesting. She was quite young. But I would love her parents names if possible.

Sutherland / Lairg Free Church Records

Hi 👋

You’ve all been so helpful to me in the past and I am hoping you can help me again.
I recently found new records on find my past that have the Lairg Free Church records. I’ve found both a birth and a death certificate in those records. But I am unsure of how to view the actual records.

Can anyone give me some direction of where I can find this book online? Or can I order copies? I did look on Scotland people and the records are not there. I emailed them and they very kindly review the transcripts and sent me the info confirming it was the family I was looking for. But she had no extra info.

I’ll include my family info just in case someone can help and I am across the world with a big time difference.

Birth - LEXIE SUTHERLAND - Dec 15, 1846 to Donald Sutherland and Isabel Gordon

Death - ISABEL GORDON - May 24, 1848

Thank you both for this info. I have reached out to the highland council and I am waiting for a response. Please if anyone has any other links to headstones I will gladly look through them while I wait for a response.

Hi. I am looking for some direction. My 3x GG Elizabeth Mackay born 1867 was buried in Canisbay Cemetery in 1931. How would I go about finding out where she is located. Can I just email the church? Or is there an online database? Any direction would be appreciated. Also any added info on this cemetery would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Oh very good thought. Thank you. I found the marriage but it’s just a single line on a page.
Donald Sutherland Canvonovy ?? Lairg to Isabel Gordon Kildoran. There are 2 records would the other one say more? Or would I be wasting credits?

I will look at a few more birth records tonight. Sp here I come!!

Lotter makes so much more sense then Father. Haha. Thank you. I am going to leave it alone for the night as it’s all mixed up in my head.

Family search seems dangerous. I feel like this is how you end up with the wrong family on your tree. I found a child in my GGs tree that she definitely didn’t have.

I will look at this again tomorrow and come back with what I find. But I want you to know how thankful I am for your time and effort. You’ve found 2 more generations for me and broken through a wall I couldn’t get through. Thank you.

I’m honestly not sure what it says. I’ve attached it. Maybe you can read it. I think maybe it’s Father.

I’m still looking at the other side and it’s like a rabbit hole. How reliable is the information on family search? I’ve found a Family that matches this family on there but I’m worried that people just add whoever they want with no sources.

Hey woah, lots for me to look at tonight. I did pull that record and all it says is that he was married. I also think his job is listed as a Lotteo? or maybe it says Father. I'm not sure. The witness is George Gordon, Son. So that does match, as it looks like he has 2 Georges.

Thank you for your response Monica. I thought maybe that meant something else because the one below says old age. Natural decay. That’s such a weird way of saying old age.

Thank you for your response.
