Ireland / Re: Irish Census News

I know Janice but I will have about 5 counties to look through and as I already burn the midnight oil, I think it will be about 6 months before I will see the outside world  (joke).   Here sometimes it is easier to travel to the county for the information but I have fun...........     I will starting on my other Canada family, which I know are going to be difficult after Christmas.  I have already done Alberta back to New Foundland and France. The American ones were easier than some here. I am sure we have all found looking at British census where it asks "where born" and it gives, "" Ireland""

Still after I have unpacked my boxes as I am moving house in mid January,  it will keep me out of  mischief until the lighter nights  return.

The death was 23-December either 1932 or 1923 and no the body was not sent back here. My father was unaware of his father whereabouts until he got the hospital bill courteous of his uncles in NY. It was a hospital in Yonkers NY but do not ask me which one as my father died in 1976 and I can not  find the invoice. My father’s mothers at that time had left him with her sister to bring him up and his father was unaware of the situation.

Waterford / Computerised Records

Hi Jen,
If you need any more help let me know I will be looking for your letter in the paper.

As for the records they are being done in house and as far as I am know they are not online – sorry - and Jen  don’t ever worry about asking questions.  My father always told me that you get no-where without asking questions and there is only one day that you will ever stop learning.

You say that Daniel joined the Indian Army.  Funny that as my friend’s gggrandfather was also in the Indian Army and we can’t find any records on him.  Can you tell me where you found his records?  He joined in 1854. I know that his wife died and was buried there. Their only daughter was born there.

You are a bit like me I am trying to find my grandfather - my dad’s dad, who was in New York when he was killed there (mugged) He was working for a merchant from here. They were trading worldwide.  I know his date of birth and death and that he was hospitalised there in Yonkers but can not find where he is buried or anything else……….. Brickwalls - any one got a sledgehammer?
