"White Lion, High Street
The building dates back to 1647, rebuilt in 1732, but it had became a licensed premises by 1794. It was sold to Dunnell’s Brewery of Banbury on 26th January 1888 and was subsequently acquired by Hunt Edmunds in February 1918. It closed during the First World War and the building was sold to Lloyds Bank in 1920."

Landlords:
           1.1830 Thomas Horne
           2.1856 Jane Cambray (Mrs)
           3.1885,1891,1903  Owen James Coppage
           4.1906 Harry G. W. Hemming

Thomas Horne was the uncle of my great great great grandmother Mrs Jane (Horne) Cambray.  By 1885 the Cambray's had moved to St Catherine's, Canada.

I visited there in the 1990's.  It was owned by a doctor's wife.  She and her mother had rescued it from the bulldozer after WWII.
