Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Minnie (Hemus) Price nee Webster - Southampton
« on: Thursday 24 August 23 08:45 BST (UK)  »
Good morning -much scratching of heads going on here - Trying to find what happened to Minnie after her husband's death (David HEMUS PRICE b.Smethwick 24th.Feb 1920 d.Southampton 16th.December 1972) she was witness on the death certificate living in Redbridge,Hants.
She was born Nottingham 7th.Feb 1916 to George James Webster & Minnie Clarke-there's mention of a hospital for the mentally ill
She moved to Southampton where one of her brothers (Malcolm Ernest Webster d.1991) lived
Another brother was Stanley b.1912 died Kegworth 1994
Can't find a death or a re-marriage anywhere
Any help would be gratefully received - thank you

aaaaah !!! the marvels of DNA !! It turns out that this gentleman is related to me so I'd like to dig deeper into his WW2 military records-A relative tells me he was in Palestine,North Africa and Germany- rumour was he was a prisoner of war - had a look in Forces War records but not much help
Born in Manchester (Denton)
Done a bit of digging and his service number might be 813470 or 793302

Many thanks (in anticipation) ???

I'm inclined now to disregard the death record as the numbers add up to Samuel being born 1826
I can't access Parish records at the moment so I'll carry on regardless! Thanks anyway for your sage remarks..

Suffolk / Missing birth record Samuel Burrows Woodbridge around 1831

I am at a loose end again...I know that my great grandfather was Samuel Burrows born Woodbridge/Sibton around 1831.His parents were James (Jas) Wolton Burrows and Matilda nee Woolnough
I have their marriage as 1824 - their first son was James 1825 Woodbridge St.Mary - then Samuel (1826-1828) - then Richard - b.Sibton -1827 - then Joshua b.Sibton 1831
I have an 1841 census listing at Friest Farm ,Dallinghoo which has Matilda , James 16 ,Samuel 14, Richard ,12 & Joshua 10
1851 has Samuel at Burgh (born Sibton and aged 19)
I have his listings from 1861 & 1871 (in Wales and married to Sarah) 1881 and 1891
All the listings mention Woodbridge so he's the man but I cannot nail down a birth record for him
around that time..I have tried FindMyPast ,Family search and Ancestry but to no avail - mention of the infant and death but not of an 1831 or 1832 arrival
Thanks for any help..
