Hi Ozzybob,
no I do not think that joseph Beasly is related as i have found records of some Beashel's living in Dublin. And I believe there are still Beashel's living in Ireland.
Cheers

Hi,
no I the only marriage certificate I have from this branch of my family tree is my mother and father's.  Unfortunately my father had a very unhappy childhood losing his mother at age 12 and enduring living with a very unpleasant father until running away at age 16 to join the Army.  Little is know about his family as he spoke rarely about them.  I can never remember his talking about his mother father, or aunts & uncles.
cheers

Hi OzyBob,
No Nellie Lewendon's father was Fred William Lewendon, and we know that she actually travelled alone to Australia.

Hi Ozy Bob,
The Peter Joseph Beashel, is actually my father Peter Beashel, he was 16 at the time of his enlistment into the army, being underage he used his father name, Peter Joseph.  He was then sent to New Guinea, where he was on the Kokoda Track.  It was discovered he was underage when in the Infirmary for some related jungle disease, and then sent back to Sydney.  He later re-enlisted into the RAAF when he reached the appropriate age.
I am not sure about Alfred Beashel.  It looks as though next of kin Is Glady R Beashel, maybe they are from the Moruya Beashel's.
Thanks for your help
Cheers

Hi,
Yes it is a uncommon name, and you would think it was easy to trace.  I have been in touch with a descendant of  Patrick and Margaret Beashel from Moruya, and we have both failed to link our trees together, although I believe them to be linked.  Peter Joseph Beashel, was my Grandfather, he was born in 1887 and died in 1962.  His wife was Nellie Lucy Lewendon, born  in England in 1900 and died in Sydney in 1938( still looking for the boat she arrived on sometime around 1918-1922). His father was Joseph Beashel (died 1897 in N.S.W.) and his mother was Frances (Fanny) McGee. Joseph's father was Richard and his mother was  Ellen. I have sent away for Joseph's death certificate to see if he was born in Ireland.  I think maybe that Joseph if the link between the two family but I have been unable to find the connection.
Yes Colin Beashel the Olympian is a cousin several times removed.
Thank you for your interest, and thanks for any suggestions.
Cheers
