Thanks for looking for my Bruce connection, Norrie. A relative did find this record of her death if that changes things.
"a burial record at the local church in Kirkcaldy - Bruse Esaball, wife of Robert Bruse, tailor 5th july 1844 49 years." (meaning Isabella Bruce, my words)

Would there be other grave yards in the area you do not have access to?

I am looking for the graves of relatives with the name of Bruce whose graves are in Kirkcaldy although I do not know which graveyard. Some family members were born in Burntisland.
Robert Bruce: 11/2/1871 & wife Isabella (nee Arthur) May, 1844.
Also daughter, Jean who died as a baby 1829, and a second daughter Isabella, date unknown.
Parents of Robert Bruce could be there too who died c.1824 and wife Margaret Bruce (nee Duff)
Regards and thanks for any help provided or suggestions made

I found a long lost post of yours re: the Bagnalls of Tullamore. My maternal relatives are also of the same family. Do you wish to swap information?

Aberdeenshire / Re: KENNEDY, Thomas

Thank you so much for your replies. I had come cross the Gordon's book which spoke of Tom and his pipe only this last week! As I said, I grew up with so many stories of Wardhouse. Tom's daughter Margaret (my Dad's grandmother) migrated here in 1911. She always said her bad legs were the result of climbing the stairs endlessly at Wardhouse! She and her sisters were maids in 'the big house' as she used to refer to Wardhouse. Margaret's simple cottage in Australia was named 'Wardhouse'. I will continue to follow up on the leads you have given me. I wonder whether I will be able to unearth a photo of Tom. It is hard being on the other side of the planet but you never know!
Thanks again
