Pegg families, not just Notts and Derby. We're curently undertaking a dna project looking atthe Peggs and hae come up with some interesting results. With dna we have linked branches of the Peggs from Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, London, Leicestershire, Manchester and the US. If you want to get involved or learn more feel free to send me a message,

Bells ringing loud and clear over here, we almost certainly have a common ancestor at 1500AD and a fairly close cousin of yours is in the Pegg dna study project. Let me have your email and I'll send over details and connect you to your cousin and his tree, and a couple of thousand years of dna generated heritage.

this is VERY late I know, I came across this regarding the Garrett Pegges. The Pegges were descended from the Pegges of Shirley Derbyshire via Melbourne Derbyshire and that the Garretts were in fact Newells from Hadnall, in the parish of Edlesborough, Bucks, in 1487.

So was this whole thread a piece of viral marketing for "House Gifts with Lawrence LLewellyn Bowen", I feel so used, ....now I have to seriously consider any future membership as merely the mention on LLB is giving me nightmares.........

So cut to the chase Rog, how much did you pay for it, and what's it worth even without the vellum scrap?
