Canada Lookup Request / Re: James Thomas Ansell
« on: Monday 13 December 21 11:41 GMT (UK)  »
RootsChat is amazing! 10 years since I put on the request,

 Thank you *Sandra*
I've wondered what happened to Edith, if she came back to England but can't find any evidence for
 that.

I've discovered with family history that it can take a long time to get answers. It was on RootsChat
I found out what happened to my late mother-in-laws half brother 80 years since she last saw him.

Suddenly remembered that I have an excellent book called Sandwich Recollected An Oral History 1914-1950

It covers many memories including Schools and Schooling. On reaching Standard V you were 14, time to leave for many pupils.

Found some school photos on site you suggested Panda.

Kent / School 1920s
« on: Thursday 06 August 20 20:25 BST (UK)  »
I have a school photo taken of my uncle late 20s early 30s. He was born in 1923 in Sandwich and went to the local school.

i am trying to date it. The only clue I have is one of the boys holding a slate with Standard One on it.

Being more familiar with present school years I was wondering if anyone could tell me how classes were arranged then. What would Standard One mean?

Thank you.

Kent / Warmans/Reynolds of Sandwich
« on: Tuesday 07 January 20 16:47 GMT (UK)  »
What are the chances of a father Charles Warman born Sandwich 1751 and his son Charles born 1794 marrying someone of the same name?

Charles sen married Elzabeth Reynolds b 1752 in Ash 1778. Elizabeth of Ash.

Charles Junior born Sandwich 1794 married Elizabeth Reynolds 1824 St James' Dover.

Elizabeth most likely born 1800 in Woolwich daughter of William Reynolds and Jemima Sawyer.

Is there anyone who has an interest in the Warmans of Sandwich?

What are the chances of a father Charles Warman b 1751 Sandwich marrying an Elizabeth Reynolds and his son Charles b 1794 marrying an Elizabeth Reynolds?

I am in a muddle about this! Charles sen married Elizabeth b 1752 at Ash 1778. Charles jun married Elizabeth 1824 at St James' Dover.

The younger Elizabeth most likely born 1800 Woolwich.

Does anyone have an interest in the Warman family of Sandwich.

Help please!

Thanks for that information. I have managed to find some of it but not familiar with Essex parishes.

I'm doing this for a neighbour who will be so pleased when I pass it on.

 Maggie.

Essex Lookup Requests / William Francis Parker
« on: Thursday 01 August 19 16:23 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for parents of William Francis. He was baptised 24th August 1794 Roydon St Peter's Essex. Parents William Parker and Sarah Parker.
I would like to know the maiden name of Sarah. Assuming they were married in that same parish.

Thank you
Maggie
