Carolanne. I have seen the parish record of the marriage cert. I cant find the certificate itself, if I have that one. My data source is definitely the marriage record I have just checked.
There was nothing of note from what I viewed at the time. It took quite a bit of time piecing together the fact that he was the sibling of another Sheen I already had. I have his marriage cert to hand and his marriage was at Birstal.

Sorry I don't Carol. That was a problem I encountered.
Nothing appears clear with the Sheffield records even though he was buried there. (City Cemetary) I have a view that he was most probably born outside what is Sheffield City in Bradfield or something like that near enough to perhaps give your place of birth as Sheffield.
His wife came from Burslem (Stoke on Trent)

I am not having you on. I am actually on an Island a difficult journey at best.
I have just returned from Warwickshire and previously Somerset and I am going to Ipswich. All for research at the archives. Warwick, Taunton, Ipswich.
Now I don't have all the answers as you can see. However I do hold transcribed records. I know from them the vast amount of info within them.
The information can easily be shared IF you have it.
Now when I am stuck in a cul de sac we all get there. At least I do. It is possible that someone might have the answer to hand.
Is that too much trouble. I spend about 30 hours per week. Often helping others usually on another site I might add.
I find it amazing that people are so prickly. It is a free site to share information. You can reply or you can decide to ignore the question posed.
In the time taken to criticise and clearly many do the question could have been answered.

I have had problems with the Census records. Taylor is quite a common surname anyway. A friend identified alternatives. I just hoped I would get that little bit nearer. I don't have the certificate myself. Julie gave me the details I have andshe thought the father was most probably Joshua Taylor.
On the other hand it appears there are two good alternatives.
