Hi Monicalesl and Sancti,
It was very remiss of me not replying to the information you sent me about David Ransay.
Thank you very much both of you, for taking the time .
I have since found out that David Ramsay was sent out to Tasmania as a convict in 1822.
Once again thank you ,sorry I took so long .

« on: Thursday 17 July 08 10:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi Davidpinkney,
I hope you are going to be my lucky one.
My great greatgrandmother came out to Australia on the boat"Mary Shepherd" on the 19-5-1863.and and settled in South Australia.
She was aged 20 years.
The only thing I know about her is what was on her death certificate
The writing is hard to read but it,s looks like Talalyford where she was born also mentions Swansea, another town was Landor, a relation mentioned.
Her mother,s name was Ann Jenkins.(on the death certificate)fathers name just Jenkins. She was born in 1844.
Many thanks if you can understand this information.       Jamielee.

Hi Jen and Christine,
Thank you both for your replies' because you both came up with Caroline Mills is that Grandfather married twice and my Caroline is from his second marriage and the other is from his son marriage of the first
 marriage if that make,s sense.
I faintly remember my parents talking about one of my fatherssisters dying very early  and that she had a couple of girls, I have been looking for quite a
while to try and find a death.
Perhaps by getting the marriage certificate of David Peach marring again(which I feel it may be Caroline ,s husband) it should show if he is a widdower )but I s
t ill won,t know what happened to her. Many thanks     Jamie lee

« on: Saturday 08 September 07 11:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi arranroots, I think I am asking the impossible but here goes, just new at this.
My greatgrandfather migrated from Dundee and arrived in Tasmania  Australia about 1830, on his death certificate it only gives his mother,s name as Sophia Ramsey.
I was hoping to find more about his background, and I am not sure just where Dundee is.
Thanking you in anticipation.
