Hi my luck

yes thats the family in dicksons row in 1911, I was unable to find them in 1901, Michaels parents, james and annie's marriage cert is for november of that year.

Joseph was my grandfather, and i have not been able to confirm his birth, from my mothers recollection and death record, it looks like he was born in 1903 but i think it was closer to 1901.
there are quite a few records i have gotten that were incorrect.

the remarried thing makes some sense except for on Michaels birth record his mothers maiden name is moran, which was correct for Annie, Annie Moran, in 1897. So she is listed as his mother, even before their marriage. i have attached the birth of Michael.

Thanks everyone, I will apply to that site and see what happens

hi Myluck, they lived most of their lives in and around the liberties. That was where their parents lived and also where they registered all of their children. All registered in the same church they were married in.

I cannot find them on the 1901 census, but did manage to find them on the 1911 census, again all in the local area.

It has been a difficult family to trace so far, all help appreciated

Dublin / Michael Behan information
« on: Tuesday 01 May 12 11:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one.

My grandfathers brother Micheal, born october 1897, died april 1923.
I have his burial record for glasnevin cemetery, and he was apparently a soldier in the civil war.

The records are a bit confusing as listed on his birth record in 1897 is his mother, with the married name of behan, but his mother and father did not seem to marry until 1902, so I am not sure why she uses her married name.

has anyone come across something similar before?
also how would I go about finding more information about him being in service. I had thought of the freemans journal for death information but it will be a while before I can get in to the library.

Any ideas appreciated.

Hi Paul

I am attaching a headstone, from my family, which lists the james junior as buried here.
I hope there is still a connection, as there were not that many behan familes in Dublin.
My Ggf was a butcher later in life, if that helps any

I have not been able to find james and annies marriage, so i cannot confirm her maiden name as yet, still looking

Hi Paul

My James was indeed married to an "Annie".
But the james jnr that i have listed died in 1955. and James senior died in 1942, he is buried in Deansgrange, near my grandfather Joseph.

Does this ring any bells. There were 7 children in the family of james and annie that i have found.
