Casalguidi - thanks - that lead looks very promising and would explain a few things.

Pauline J - thanks for replying:
Name of Spouse :
Edward Charles Allen

Year and Place of Marriage :
31-3-1927

I don't know who the witnesses were as i have not got a copy of the certificate.

Kent / Whitlow b Hadlow 1905

I am trying to find birth details of Julia Whitlow (date of birth 23rd November 1905).  Her passport application staes that she was born in Hadlow, Kent but i can find no record of her anywhere.

I can't even find her birth in national registers or 1911 census.

If anyone has access to Hadlow Parish records for the relevant period i would be very grateful if they could check to see if she was born in Hadlow at that time.

Any information about Whitlow's in general would also be appreciated. Her father is recorded on her marriage certificate as Tom Arthur Whitlow (carpenter).

Thanks in advance.

Stan

Thanks for that - either moved in after the census, was living there temporarily or gave a false address!

Durham Lookup Requests / 1901 census Jarrow
« on: Tuesday 17 April 07 20:41 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if someone could tell me the name of the family living at:

59 Stoddart Street, Jarrow

in the 1901 census,  one of my relatives married in October 1901 to a gentleman who gave his address as 59 Stoddart St at the time of the wedding.  Unfortunately I cannot read his surname from the marriage certificate it looks like Lyas or Zyas.

Thanks

Ed
