My late mother, Ivy Irene Packer, was  from Middlesbrough and married into the Huggins Family. Whilst I have some of our relations and as I now live in Northumberland I am trying to find any Packers who lived in the Redcar area. Any help would be most welcome. Thank you Bob H

Dear Merc 2081, Thank you for your information wich I will study and come back to you. It's at a time like this that one wishes you could just pick up a 'phone' and ring the ancestor to clarify a few points. Thank you, Bobh

Dear Tati, Thank you. There are two William Henry Packers on the 1864 census. One, our William born on 23 January 1864, and the other born at the end of March but no relation.
Our William then moved up to Teeside, or Middlesbrough as it was then, where he and his wife Eleanor, nee Blakelock, raised a family of ten children one of whom was my Mother Ivy Irene Packer. Many thanks, Bob h

Dear Tati, Excellent. I confirm that this information does relate to our family tree and at the moment we only have a son William Henry Packer, born 23 Jan 1864,  listed in our tree so the extra names are news to us. What we are trying to do is find out where Charlotte died. This may help us in a dispute over where William Henry Packer was born. My brother James's research shows Cheriton Fitzpaine in Devon. However in my research the census's show his birth in Teignmouth in Devon. Of course we are not at loggerheads over this but we both do want to have accurate records. Thank you for your help and if you did happen to know where Charlotte died then that would be a great help. Of course if we can be of any help to your goodself then please get in touch. OK, Bob H

Dear Barbara, It was a challenge working on the picture of the lady in the wedding dress for you which everyone seems to admire. I do not like the word play. I do not play with restoring photographs. As a photographer for some 64 years and a professional one for the last 50 years I do not play with pictures. In the old days one would perform minor miracles in a dark room but now it's all down to the eye of the photographer and digital imaging. I work on many hundreds of pictures over a year and besides improving them, I can also make them of a size and quality suitable for importing directly into Family Tree Programmes. If you want the picture I did for you reduced then I can send one up to you sames quality but much smaller. Best wishes, Bob Huggins
