Sussex Lookup Requests / Re: early Mew's possibles please?
« on: Friday 08 August 08 21:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi Andrea & thank you for the reply.

I found that Thomas was my 7x great grandfather through FHO & someone found his marriage for me on the Sussex marrige Index CD. The only detail it gives is that Thomas was from Framfield & Ann Sparrow was of the same parish.

I have tried the weald website which contains some of the latter relatives, but none that may have been siblings/ parents etc.

Sussex Lookup Requests / early Mew's possibles please?
« on: Friday 08 August 08 19:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I've had no luck with my Mew tree before Thomas Mew c1670. He lived in Framfield until he died in 1699, although he married in Falmer. The rest of my Mew ancestors stayed in and around the Framfield/Buxted/Uckfield area for 200 years.
I wonder if anyone has any Mew's recorded within a few miles of Framfield in the 15-1600's that may tie in?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / William Rowse born Spitalfields?
« on: Sunday 01 July 07 21:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I have a brick wall with William Rowse. He marries Rebecca Neil in 1803, Whitechapel & the furthest back I can get for him is a note on IGI that he was born c1776 in Spitalfields.

Does anyone have access to baptisms for this area? Your help would be greatly appreciated  :)

Thank you for taking the time to look.

Thank you jc26red.

I'm going to have to chose one to print out now! Conundrums, conundrums!

Thank you all once more for taking the time to restore the photo, I'm absolutely amazed it came back so clear.

As my husband never knew his paternal grandparents & his father died young, it was such a find to have this pic in the 1st place, in the condition it was, far less how it is now. When he got it, you would have thought he had just inherited the family treasure!

Once again, thank you from the both of us.

Sussex / Uckfield baptism look up please
« on: Monday 28 May 07 20:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi all.

I'm looking for the baptism info for George Mew born c1811 Uckfield.
He gives this on census returns 1841-61 & I'd like to find who his parents were.

Thank you in advance

They are so cleaned up that I'm now wondering what my hubby's father has in his hand! i'll have to do a bit of close up investigating!

Once again, thank you all ever so much.

Wow Woodentop50 & Dyingout, these are great!
I can't wait to see my husbands face when he sees these.
They are beyond my wildest expectations.

You're all wizards to be able to rescue this pic so well.

A million thanks to you all.
