I did a bit of research on this family back in 2012 on behalf of a friend who is not a member of Rootschat. I'm fairly sure that you must share ancestors with her. Would you like me to give you her email address via a personal email (assuming that I can work out how to do it)

I think that your best bet would be to ask the Priest’s House Museum, Wimborne.

Probably not a lot of help!
I can confirm that my father was serving in the RAF during WW2 and whilst stationed in the UK did come home on leave but once he was posted to Europe (France, Belgium and Germany) it was a different matter and we didn't see him until he came back to the UK.

Very many thanks to you all for your interest and what a magnificent find by JJ, without you I’m not sure that I would ever have found Theodora’s death date so I really am indebted to you.

I suppose another explanation for the death not showing up in the GRO Index could be that there was a slip up between the local Registrar’s office and them?

When and where did she die?
Born 1892. Baptized 1st May at Swinton daughter of Henry Hetherington and Mary Jane Yates.
Married Harold Machin 1918. Harold died in 1937 and probate was granted to his widow Theodora Smith Machin. The Sheffield Independent carried an announcement of his death and a notification of the burial service. In 1939 she was shown as living alone at 37 Edale Road, Sheffield and 29th June 1942 jointly with her married sister Annie she was granted probate of her mother’s estate. She then seems to disappear.
Any thoughts or ideas of what became of her will be greatly appreciated.
