Cambridgeshire / Re: CORNWELL from Bottisham

Hi Carolyn,
Just read your thread regarding the cornwells of 2008/9 and wonder if you are still pursuing this investigation.
I am David Cornwells grand daughter , second son of George Cornwell and I personally knew George and several of the brothers and sisters. I am 79 . I do have a photograph of George somewhere in my mothers old albums (she died in 2007 aged 100) . George was well into his 90's when he died and at that time was living with Lily and Morley (real name Frank Morley one of the brothers) at "Shanklin", High st, Bottisham). I spent time with him, as most of our holidays when I was little
was in Bottisham and Newmarket.
Perhaps we can learn from each other.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Jean Sharp.

i have an Ann Riach who would be my great great grandmother who married william anderson. Ann was born in 1844 and her parents were William Riach and Janet Gordon

Are these Riachs part of your family

they originate from Dallas in Moray

again thanks for the reply.
i don't know that i will ever get to the bottom of this. iam really stuck, Isaac doesn't even appear to be a family name like a great many of them. do earlier marriage records contain fathers names as isaac was married to sarah lofts before rebekah?
is there any where i can get more info?

hi yes i have isaac marriage cert to rebekah in 1839

this says that his father was Wm dead-not very helpful i'm afraid

i have turned to trying to match up all the cornwells originating from bottisham to try and work out who's son is ?isaac.
i have narrowed it down to apossible 3 but ther may be more.

william and mary are 1 of my possibles
i also have a william son of edmund and elizabeth born c1798 but no marriage for him
i have a william son of william and ann arber again no definite marriage for him

any idead would be gratefully received

i am going round in circles with these cornwells from bottisham as i can not find my relative isaacs birth details therefore am unable to match him to any particular family. i have narrowed it down a bit i think!!
william married mary benstead in 1812
i have 3 children robert charlotte and elizabeth who i think may all have died in infancy-is there any way of checking this out.
i am taking a very wild guess that they may have had more children ?????my isaac and wondering whether mary died either then or later
is anyone able to verify this or look it up anywhere

i then have a william widower marrying sarah adcock in 1832 had 2 children with sarah. sarah died and william then married ruth goodwin in1846
could this be the same william throughout.
