The National Library of Ireland, is currently closed to the public, due to Covid-19. You can contact them by e-mail.

Ahhhh yeah, of course! Thanks for the reminder.

I think these are the same source you have.

Yes, exactly...that's what's got me excited...if I can find out a little bit more, I think I'll then be able to trace the rest of my WILKINSON line :)

Is anyone going to the NLI and could do a quick lookup for me, that might result in a 200 year old brick wall???

Family lore says a Captain WILKINSON fought in Sir Hardress WALLER'S regiment in the mid-1600's and was granted land in Bantry, Wexford (source: Cromwellian Settlement of Ireland by Prendergast).

The Books of Survey and Distribution record ownership before the confiscations, and who the new proprietors were. This, I assume, should list Captain Wilkinson. I'm wondering if the The Books of Survey and Distribution mentions his actual name and maybe any other details?

The Books for several counties are online, alas, not for Wexford, hence this request.

Here's the catalogue reference:
http://sources.nli.ie/Record/MS_UR_067491/Holdings#tabnav

I'd be grateful for a photo of any pages where there is a WILKINSON mention in Wexford.

Thank you so much in advance if you can help!

Cheers,

Tim Wilkinson

Hi Cara,

In your research do you have an Elizabeth LETT marrying a Thomas MAYNARD, about 1808?

They had children born in Newtownbarry.

Cheers

Tim
I have over the years researched the LETT family heavily, my connections being through  a twig in Australia and a natural curiosity of the link between this family, in Ireland, and Tasmania, India and other places.

So if you are still interested I would like to make contact with you, firstly through this medium.

You can request a look up from the Ryerson volunteers:

http://www.ryersonindex.net/request.php

Thanks for the suggestion Merlin, however when I fill out the form I get this message: "Sorry, there are no volunteers available to carry out a lookup of the Adelaide Advertiser from 2007."

« on: Monday 14 October 13 16:02 BST (UK)  »
Hi....I dont know if it is the same family group but I have a John Calver 1817 Mellis married to Rachel ? 1816 Hadleigh....I see in my notes that I found your John & Lydia and because of the same surname and place, I just kept a note of them thinking that they must be related somehow to my John? Do you have any other info that might tie in?  (Just a note but the surname Woodthorpe is linked to my Calver family aswell) does this help?  regards jenny

Hi Hotrod,

I checked my info and it doesn't match anything I have...sorry!
