I have acquired a box of letters, photos, memoriam cards etc relating to the SIMMONDS family of Forest Hill, Ealing and Ruislip Middx. Other relatives names mentioned are LEE, BRADDON,WARD,Evans and HOLMAN.There seems to be a London Scottish Regiment connection.  Also Donald Stuart who performed at the London Palladium in 1933.  I would be happy to pass these on to anyone with a family connection.

World War One / Thomas Usher HMS Vengeance
« on: Thursday 24 January 13 19:52 GMT (UK)  »
I have a family photo of three men, one an elderly man wearing 3 medals, one a sailor from HMS Vengeance and another one man in a suit. I also have a medal and ribbon which I have identified as World War 1 service medal.  The ribbon has dark blue, white and orange vertical stripes. The sailor is identified on the back of the photo as Thomas Usher  HMS Vengeance, and the elderly man may be John Usher the father of my relative Harry Usher. I have not been able to find out anything about either men's war service although I have searched on Find My Past.  Any ideas pleas.

Northumberland / Re: Electoral rolls Willington Quay
« on: Thursday 24 January 13 11:09 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you for the replies I got from various people regarding my post for Electoral registers Willington Quay.  I do have two possible addresses if anyone is willing or able to look them up for me.  They are 11 Nelson Street Willington Quay and 23 Benjamin Road Howden.  The names I am interested in are Thomas SNOWDON, Norman SNOWDON and George SNOWDON. Regarding another suggestion, I am not sure how to go about getting the details of Electoral Constituancies or how easy it is to get a reading ticket for the British Library

Is there anyone who is able to look in the electoral registers for the Willington Quay/Howden area of Newcastle for Thomas Snowdon from 1918, and Norman Snowdon from 1932 please.  I know that some records were destroyed.
Thank you
