Hi David,
Everyone in Southill seems to be related somewhere down the line!!
The Litchfields are not relevent to my tree as they married into it. I was hoping that you may have had something on the Williamsons. I got most of my info from another "tree person", but on checking it there seems to be two similar starting points and I'm trying hard to figure them out!! I'll let you know if I need your dectective services again?! ;D
Regards
Andi

David ... just a query ...
I've just been checking surnames of interest and I noticed you also have Litchfield. I have a Frederick Litchfield, c1870, Southill who married in 1893 in Southill an Ellen Williamson, c1969. I don't suppose they are also in your tree are they? Ellen is my Grandmother's aunt.

Hello again John!

You guys did such a fantastic job on my last post that I had to try it again! I have recommended this site to all I know who are tracing their family history. Only wish I'd found it years ago!!

Will have to post the other names in my tree to see what comes up...

Thanks again for the great help  ;D

That looks like them, thanks  :)

I also found a George Thomas on the same birth registration page as Harry Herbert. Could they be twins or cousins?

I've got no idea where they stopped on the way, but I don't see why not. I have no idea of what work Harry was in, but presumably something which allowed him to pick up jobs on the move and support his family at the same time.

I found Dorothy's birth in Bourne 3rd Quarter 1899 along with Francis, so presume they are twins.

Fantastic!  ;D
Thanks for that confirmation Geoff.

I had gone up a couple of blind alleys before with Henry's not Harry's!

Is there any way of checking which children were born where?
Also the POB and DOB of Harry and Frances?

Lincolnshire / SMITH but which one?
« on: Friday 20 April 07 21:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,
I am having a little trouble with my Grandfather's line. There is not much info available plus the name Smith doesn't help matters much!

All I know is that his parents were Henry Herbert and Frances and they lived in Lincolnshire and moved to Cardiff. They had at least 10 children, some born in Lincolnshire and some (including my Grandad) in Cardiff. He didn't have contact with the older ones.

On FreeBMD I found a Harry Herbert who married a Frances Elizabeth Newham, Dec 1898 in Bourne, but I can't be sure it is the correct couple.

The children's names are: Dorothy, Henry, Kenneth, Francis, Frederick, Helen, Hilda, Ernest, Eve and John Edward (my Grandad DOB Nov 1915).

Any help would be great as I need to be be on the right track in the first place to continue tracing this line.

Thanks Andi
