Thank you again Sue, shows what frustrations spelling can cause in our family history quests.

Hi Sue

Thanks all for info re Mollisons.

Sorry, I quoted Nan's marriage off the to;p of my head and was a year out. Nan married Grandad at Burnley House Burnley St Richmond on 5th November 1902.  Nan and Grandad are buried close to my Mum and Dad at Fawkner (Nan and Grandad lived with us in Coburg).  I do not know who the other Andrew is I have no knowledge of any Andrew Mollison in Queensland.

Cheers Valerie

Hi Alison you have been wonderful thank you so much for your prompt replies.

One query though, Andrew Mollison's marriage  doesn't make sense. Andrew my grandfather married Florence Osborne  in Abbotsford Melbourne 1901 (Nan was b 1869 Kapunda Sth. Australia?

  Different Andrew?

Cheers Valerie

Thank you Alison, have everything except the ship they sailed on from N.Z. Just putting last bits together for family booklet so might have to go without that last voyage. Would have been nice to include it, but....

Cheers, valerie

Hi Alison

Yes this is my family. My grandfather Andrew Mollison died North Coburg. He was born in Dunedin as were the eldest 2 sons but do not know when he/they arrived in Melbourne from N.Z.

Can anyone help please. Am searching for  the ship that gr grandparents George Mollison and Agnes (Lisk) and family arrived on in Melbourne from Dunedin N.Z.

George and Agnes and baby James Mollison sailed to N.Z. on the Cartsburn 8th April 1874 from Glasgow, arriving Canterbury July 1874.

3 children were born in Dunedin (baby James died soon after arrival in 1874).

I feel that they would have come to Australia around the late 1880s.    However to date I have not had any success in finding the ship they arrived on in Melbourne.

Any info gratefully received.

Thanks Cyclaman. Yes I do have John Kennedy's marriage details most important for me is the marriage of his parents Mary G and William F and details of the childrens' birth (there were a number after John Kennedy and a few before I thjink. i.e. Anna Maria, Samuel, perhaps James or other females - the youngest Alexander may have been born in Antrim but his death certifidcate said born in Donegal, which is also possible.

Information on Glenholme family is also needed, i believe Mary may have had a sister Margaret (married to a Dugan).

I am also after details of the Kennedy family, Antrim. Miss Kennedy married another William Falconbridge in Antrim 1776, however her christian name is unknown. She may have been the eldest of a Samuel Kennedy corn/flour miller of Grove Green.

Thanks Hibee. It is rather a long shot, though I am prepared for anything these days. Jean actually became Jane in England (I have found this to be the case in a number of families).

There is some confusion about the marriage date, 1723 or 1745, and the name, John Falconbridge is listed on the IGI but I am assured that this is a mistake and should be Samuel Falconbridge (which fits my theory).

I think I have an Alexander Boyd married to a Susannah but cannot connect Jean/Jane.  Susannah fits as Samuel refers to his mother in law as Susannah in his will. No mention of wife so apparently she was dead.  Son George is mentioned and a Samuel married Mary Smith in 1786 in Edinburgh, presumably a son,  = if this is the right family).

Not sure where to go next.  I have not come across Berd, or Bird to date.

Cheers, Valerie
