Romsey Extra still exists as a separate civil parish.  I have been a member of Romsey Extra Parish Council for the last 20 years and still am.

What is usually referred to as Romsey Town is actually the parish of Romsey Infra as we like to remind them from time to time.

Regards,

Cllr John Parker

Colin,

The material I sent about the Bell Inn came from the revised LTVAS book supplemented by my own photos.

I have a complete set of the LTVAS publications.

The Bell Inn is no more.  The building still exists but has been converted to offices.  Could take a picture if it would help.

Thanks for that information on William Dillenz.  It is certainly him.  I'm not sure who the other one is but I suspect he is related.

I'll keep on searching and see what else I can find.

Thanks

Looking for information on German immigrants from Ulm to Buckfast Abbey early 20th century.  In particular anything about Wilhelm Dillenz who worked as a lay brother and then at some stage moved to Hutton in Essex (near Brentwood) to run a farm.
