Hi Mike,

Happy New Year.

Any luck with the 1763 marriage?

Regards,
David.

Hi Mike,

YOU'RE A STAR!!!!!!

Thanks very much for offering to check the entry at the Records Office. I really appreciate it - AGAIN!

I have a copy of the 1771 marriage entry which was obtained from the Warwickshire County Records Office, but it doesn't say if NK was a bachelor or widower.

Would obtaining the microfiche from the LDS give further details as you said in your post?

Thanks once again,
David.

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Kimberlin - Parish register lookup request for Cadeby

Mike and Toni,

Thank you both for taking time to find these records. I really appreciate it.

I have come across the Nathaniel Kimberlin - Jane or Joan Jackson in IGI, but I can't confirm if it's the one I'm looking for as mine married Mary Owner 16 Dec 1771 St Michaels, Coventry, Warwickshire. I suppose Mary could of been his 2nd wife.

Thanks again to you both and have a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year
 :) ;) :D :) ;) :D

Hi Linda,

Thank you so much for the info. Sounds very interesting and something I'd have to look into further.

Do you know if the parish registers for Market Bosworth and the surrounding area are available on microfiche or book form? As I live near the south coast, it's a bit difficult to travel to the records office.

Thanks again.
David.

Hi Sylvia,

Thank you for listing the entry and for taking the time in searching the register.

I've hit the brick wall in my Kimberlin research and I was hoping that the Cadeby registers might provide a few clues as it's close to Market Bosworth where I've traced the first Kimberlin in my line, Nathaniel Kimberlin, to. Unfortunately, he just appears and dies there in 1802 without any age being recorded either.

David.

Still looking if anyone can help.

Thanks.

Hi,

If anyone has access to the parish registers for Cadeby, I would be very grateful for a  lookup for the surname of KIMBERLIN for any entries prior to the 1800's.

Thank you.
David.

Thanks for the reply Newf.

Just had a look at IGI and there are a couple of records that look interesting:-

Marriages: THOMAS KIMBERLIN
  Spouse:  HANNAH WOODWORTH  Family
Marriage:  07 MAY 1747   Saint Mary, Leicester, Leicester, England

THOMAS KIMBERLIN
Christening:  16 JUL 1753   Cadeby, Leicester, England
 Parents:
  Father:  THOMAS KIMBERLIN
Mother:  ANN  ( could be the same Thomas & Hannah as above)

Cadeby is near Bosworth, so it might be worth checking the Parish registers here.

Leicestershire / Brick wall help & ideas
« on: Wednesday 25 July 07 17:23 BST (UK)  »
I’ve hit the good old brick wall researching the Kimberlin family of Market Bosworth.

I’ve managed to trace the line as far as Nathaniel Kimberlin (Inkeeper of the Wheatsheaf), his wife Mary (nee Owner) and 5 children. They were married 16/12/1771 at St. Michaels , Coventry and their children were all baptised at St. Peters, Market Bosworth:-

John Thomas bapt. 16/10/1772
Thomas bapt. 2/08/1776
Edward bapt. 4/01/1779
Jane bapt. 26/01/1781
Ann bapt. 2/01/1784

Mary was buried 29/03/1796, again at St Peter’s, with Nathaniel joining her 28/01/1802. I have visited the Church, but was unable to find their headstone.

A search of the St. Peter’s parish registers have drawn a blank for Nathaniel’s baptism.

Any ideas?
Thanks.
