hi there everyone
thanks for the great response.I have had a look at the Bmd 's Mo and it so shouts out to me that they could be twins but to be 100% sure I have come to the conclusion that i will probably have  to get the birth cert.  I didn't think to look in the burial records  but I am going to go back to the Leeds library and have a good look before i go and buy the cert and while I'm there  see if i can find anyone else as i know there is only a a limited window that they could have been born and died in and that is between 1891 -1911.
Do you think its strange that one child was baptized and not the other little girl. Do you think it could have been because she could have been ill?

England / is louisa a twin ?
« on: Saturday 21 March 09 23:33 GMT (UK)  »
hi there
on the great 1911 census i found out that my grandmother had 6 siblings unbeknown to the family. Her name was Mary Ellen craven the only one child  to survive. the other six children had died As a family we had heard of  3 of the children, Elizabeth Jane, Henry Tom, Annie Victoria May so i was hoping to find out about the others but nobody in the family knew of them so I went to the Leeds library to the local studies area where in a baptism record for st matthews (little London ) 1885 - 1899 (local church to the family address at the time ) I found a little one called Louisa craven to gr grandparents henry and Susan ( real name Susanna ) craven but no more names were found. I then came home and went on ancestry where i came across a Louisa craven born qtr o/n/d Leeds vol 9b Page 531 1896 which ties in with the baptism record but also on same page there was a Sarah craven so  I went back to the library the following day to see if i had missed her in the baptisms and she was not there  I was wondering how would i know if Louisa had a twin. Could anyone so kindly advise me or give me an idea what to do now. Is there another way of finding the names of the other children? many thanks

hi there
could anyone tell me how i could go about finding out about my g.grandfathers job as a harness maker/ saddler journeyman.  Do you think there may be records some where of an apprenticeship. He was born in Weedon Lois Northamptonshire in 1842 and on each census from 1861 his occupation is  listed as a Harness Maker. I'd like to find out if there are any records of his apprenticeship and employment . any help would be greatfully received thankyou

Hi Tati

yes this looks like them as I know that my granddad had some siblings called JohnWilliam and frank ( which would be short for Francis).

On my g.grandparents marriage certificate it states that James(was a cartman) dad was James ( deceased)  was a labourer.  Margaret father john was also a labourer

babsjane :) P.s I'm am trying to trace them back
