Hello Rich,
Yes we are related. It was wonderful to get your information. I have gone into your site and given you some more info on the Mannings. Rootschat has made a huge difference to my research as I am learning so much more about my family.
Thanks.

 Hi Marylin,
Thanks for that. On some of the census forms there does seem to be some discrepancy about her age.
Cheers,

Hi searcher 680.
Thanks for the information on Eliza Howcutt. I am having a little trouble confirming that she is my great grandmother. She was born in 1823 but on the marriage cert. she is listed as "of full age." Was 17  an adult? She was widowed in 1868. Her son George Stephens Manning was my maternal grandfather.
 Cheers

Hello Janice,
Thanks for those web sites. I really have been fumbling around, so this gives me something positive to work with. If I get a positive result I will post it.
Thanks again

Canada / Manning, George J

This is a shot in the dark. I am trying to find my uncle George. He was born in France in 1891. Father was George Stephens Manning. I do not know mother's name. He lived in England for a time (1901 census) He apparently married a French girl and with daughter sailed for Canada. I suspect this was soon after W.W.1.  I have no other information on him at all. Any snippet of info. on a George J. would be much appreciated.
Mike
