Not quite that bad, but close. Thanks. Rootschat has already given me a wonderful contact for the family history.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels like a complete dill sometimes. Imagine not knowing what a pm was?

Australia / Australia from Germany: the Rub family

I am very new at this and who reads instructions on how to use the site. Wondering if anyone out there has any info on the Rub/Rubb family who settled in Drayton, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Thomas Rub was born in Drayton in 1862 but his father Joseph was born in Germany in or about 1827.
My Grandfather was Steven Rubb. Some family members spelt the surname as Rub. Joseph married a Christianna Brennenstahl, also born in Germany. Joseph was a carpenter as were some of his sons. All of their children were born in the Toowoomba area.
