Immigrants & Emigrants - General / Richard Takle
« on: Thursday 04 April 13 06:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am trying to trace Richard Takle prior to his arrival in the Colony Of Victoria, Australia in December 1853, he was a passenger on the "Hydrosie" which sailed out of Bombay, India.
I feel he may have been with the British Army there but have no proof of this, he was born in circa 1821 in England to James Takle & Sarah Land, he had a sister Mary baptised in Essex during 1828.   I can find no record of James Takle after 1828 or Sarah, not sure if the married but she appears to have married as her daughter Mary was also known as Ward when she married Robert Butson in Essex in 1849 before they migrated to Australia,   Can somebody help me with Richard Please?? :-\
Kind regards

Hi, I am searching for my GG grandmother who migrated to Australia from Denmark circa 1862, along with her young daughters, Wilhelmina Julia & Eda Henrietta Bolt.   She was widowed sometime in the early 1860's, her husband Neils Raun Karup Bolte having died.   They married in Kobenhaven in the 1850's, he was aged 53 years and she 32 years at the time of their marriage.
On arrival in Australia she settled in Yackandandah, Colony of Victoria and in 1868 she married Peter Anderson Wind they had five children one of which she appears to have been pregnant before leaving Denmark or shortly after.   She died in 1908 and is buried in Corryong Cemetery, Victoria, can anybody help please I have come to a dead end :'(
Kind regards

Hi Geoff, thanks for your prompt reply.   I tried the sites you suggested, but no joy.   I will try a search for cemeteries in Kobenhavn & see if they have a burial index.   I have no trace of Jeanette, ( Neils wife ) from the time they married until her arrival with Wilhelmena & Eda in Yackandandah, Victoria, Australia, it appears she may have been pregnant when she left Denmark or perhaps a liaison on board the ship.   I have her history  from arrival in Yackandandah through to her death in Corryong along with my great grandmother Wilhelmena's, again thank you for your assistance, Kind regards & best wishes, Peter:'(

Hi Ray, thankyou for the info, I have the History of the Isaac family ( Sarah Ann Isaac ) from 1512 to the present day, it is my families direct line.   There are a few missing pieces re Sarah's brother George Albert Isaac, he was on the 1881 census but not found after that, also Sarah's mother Mary Allan, born in Ireland, cannot trace her or her sister Margaret in Ireland.
My cousin is in touch with a grandaughter of Eleanor Ethel Whineray & William Leslie Burton, I think the grandaughter 's father was John Burton.   You intrigued me with the comment re the Clarke/ Whineray connection, I will now try and find the information, again thankyou for your assistance, please have a Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year, Kind regards
Peter :D

:)Hi Ray, the information I Have was sent to me it was found on RootsChat by my cousin, it is entitled "WHINERAY CHART 0504", Hugh Casson Whineray is found on "WHINERAY CHART 0605".   We were searching for our great aunt Sarah Ann Isaac, born 1879 at Toxteth Park, Liverpool. Lancashire, Hugh was her second husband, her first William Halewood, died in 1901, she married Hugh at St Mathews; Liverpool, Lancashire, on May 8, 1907, they had two children, John William, born November 2, 1907 & Eleanor Ethel, born about September quarter 1909, both at Birkenhead, Cheshire.    Hugh emigrated to Australia, married EileenJosephine Carol, his occupation in Australia was given as Fitter, he died October 26, 1995.   Eleanor possibly married William Leslie Burton, March quarter 1931, West Derby District, Lancashire.   I have no other information on Hugh Casson Whineray, I presume he passed away as Sarah Ann then married Richard James Clark ( Clarke ), September quarter, 1914, West Derby District, Lancashire.   I have found a death of Sarah Ann Clark , died 1950 in Manchester, not sure if it is her though.   I have a photo of her but it is not very clear.   Other than that I have no other information of the Wheneray's except for the Australian connection, I have spoken to John William Whinerays daughter who advises that her father did not know his father, I would appreciate any help you can give me on both Hugh & Sarah please,
Kind regards & have a merry Xmas and happy new year
