No, but thank you for the information, appreciated. Where the bridge was is now just a plain road, no bridge.
Thanks again.

Brilliant, are there any old photos of the wharf amongst his notes and bits and pieces?

Would anybody have any photos of Bewley Bridge, The Wharf or the bridge at the Bell where the toll house was?

Thank you very much. I once found old Frith black and white photos of these bridges, but alas cannot find them now. ‘that’s life’. Thank you for all information though, much appreciated.

Wiltshire / Wilts & Berks Canal - Lacock
« on: Sunday 10 September 23 20:34 BST (UK)  »
Is anyone able to explain the canal when it came from Chippenham to Semington Junction in particular as it passed through Bewley Common and Lacock, where there was a supposed hand bridge over the canal, then a bridge by the Bell inn, a wharf, with Wharf cottage, and also I believe a brewery and Toll. Then going further on to three locks, two being Queensfield and Melksham Forest. Can anyone put some meat onto the bones for me. Any old maps, photos of such like material would be most welcomed. Thank you.

Can anybody take the ALLARD marriage of James ALLARD to Mary Potter in 1773 any further back? They were married at All Saints Church, Wetheringsett, Suffolk. Anything would be appreciated, parents, siblings, baptisms, etc.

Thank You

Have had a good read, and all quite interesting to say the least. Not sure which part my uncle was involved with, or even attached too. But very interesting all the same. I have also found that he was previously Mentioned in Despatches (MiD) whilst serving with the 3rd Indian Divisional Signals in 1939 and listed in the London Gazette 8th July 1941, but cannot seem to find the page. Can anybody assist with the relevant page number or entry.
Thank you in anticipation.
