Oxfordshire / DIGBY, Walter Gerald (from Oxford or Surrey)
« on: Friday 27 April 12 16:30 BST (UK)  »

Want to find who WGD's parents were, and where he was born.  His attestation papers say he was 19 years of age in 1884 and was born in Kingston, Surrey.  The 1891 census agrees with this place of birth &  shows him and family living in Shorncliffe Camp. The 1901 census shows him still at Shorncliffe with larger family, slightly younger, and born in Oxfordshire.  There was a rumor that his parents were George and Frances but cannot find them. There was a clue that his mother Frances lived in Bear Road or Bear Inn in Oxford but unable to verify this.

Would appreciate any help but may be unable to reply straight away.  Thanks.

I believe there are still Risbridgers and or Risbridge families out there somewhere who might have a clue on how I can trace the parents/siblings of Sarah Risbridge/r from Ifield, Sussex who married Wm. Eede or Ede or Eade there in 1788.  Thanks so much.

Think I shall always be a beginner.  Has anyone else gone into (or tried to get in to) the National Archives UK and find that you are taken to Ancestry? Its annoying. Would appreciate help, thank.

PS: Not sure where to post this.
