Hi Farming F.
And welcome to Rootschat

Janes surname was Thomas and here parents were Noah Thomas and Mary Griffith, Mary's family we can trace back to John Christopher who died 12 Feb 1716 in Llantrithyd.
If we can help in any way please ask and we will try!!

Hi Sue,
I don't know if you have seen this site but it contains The Registers of Llantrithyd Church:- Christenings, 1597-1810; Burials,1781-1810; Marriages 1571-1810.
If you look through this you may find what you are looking for, but it takes a lot of cross checking

Glamorganshire / Christophers of Llantrithyd
« on: Thursday 09 July 09 20:12 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Can anybody help us with the following query -

During our search for relatives we have come across the Christopher's from Llantrithyd in the Vale of Glamorgan. We have managed to find Parish records which take this family back as far as John Christopher who died February 1716. John married three times - Mary, Jennet John and Joan Dyer and had numerous children, including Morgan Christopher (b. 1685 - son of Jennet John). We are stuck however trying to locate the Christopher family further back than this, we are not sure whether John Christopher moved to Llantrithyd before marrying, or whether he was not Christened in the Parish Church.

Does anyone know if the Christopher's are from a particular area? Can anyone suggest any means of tracking a family's movements during the c.17th?

Thanks in anticipation,
Dai Thom  :) :D :D :)

Thanks Ruth
My dad gave us his grandmothers name as Jane, but I think he was confusing his maternal grandmother with his fathers sister,
thanks again

Tati,
thanks for the info on Catherine, after some new proding of my Father he gave us the name of his grandmother, which has changed in the last 12 months so we now have to look at a different family line, Edgar is my paternal grandfather.
thanks again
